The story
Built by someone who can't remember names.
I'm terrible with names. I'd meet someone and forget their name before the day was out. I'd scroll my contacts, see a name, and have no idea who it was. Or I'd remember when and where we met, but couldn't find them scrolling my contact list. Same problem every time: a face without a name, a name without a story, or a memory with nowhere to land. Sound familiar?
My address book wasn't built for any of that. Name, phone number, done. The one thing I could usually recall was the context. So, like everyone, I'd shove it into the "last name" field. That always felt wrong.
So I built Quis. It keeps the where and when for every person you meet. Find someone by place on the map. Find them by time on your timeline. Once the context is there, the name usually comes back on its own.
I'm French, moved to San Francisco in 2012, and spent twelve-plus years in tech at Google, Stripe, and Square, with a background in math, physics, and computer vision.
